Most operators will ask about access when quoting. Some operators publish an access surcharge, in one case 15 to 35% per unit for hard-to-reach units. A few also charge for travel to homes well outside their usual area.

You’ll see split system cleans advertised from around $90–$110. These are quick tiers, usually about 30 minutes, and the operators who sell them say plainly they aren’t meant for units with mould, leaks or smells. That isn’t a real clean, and it’s not what we recommend.

If an operator is charging $80 for a split system clean, they need to be moving fast to make that viable, and moving fast means not spending the necessary time on the coil, the fan barrel, or the drain system. Those are the parts that actually matter.

A well-priced clean from a skilled operator with the right equipment will leave your unit running cooler, smelling fresh, and lasting longer. A quick, cheap clean might look fine on the surface but miss the buildup where it actually counts.
